Our first stop of Day 4 was the Fjallsárlón and Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoons. The lagoons are formed naturally from water melted off of the nearby glacier. Icebergs break away from the glacier and float, glittering in the lagoon. The water is freezing. I managed to get up to my ankles for a photograph, but man it hurt.

The rest of the day we just wandered through the East Fjords where everywhere you look is a sight worth taking in. We just stopped intermittently in the cities and roadside stops along the way, enjoying the views.

It ended up being a very long day of driving, rocking out to the Hamilton soundtrack. I really enjoyed the lack of organized stops and just taking in the views.
We tried to free camp in the East Fjords, but we had a very hard time finding a place to stay. We ended up driving straight through to a campground in Mývatn.
